Adam Rosales

The Rangers resigned Adam Rosales to avoid arbitration.  I still don’t get the interest in this guy.  Yes, he is a fast baserunner, but so are a lot of other guys that can hit better than .190.  I feel like this is a wasted bench spot.

As the Qualifying Offer deadline passes, the free agent market begins to take shape as teams will more actively pursue signings and trades.  The Rangers had resigned  Catcher Geovany Soto and  Starting Pitcher Martin Perez earlier last week.  Today Nelson Cruz rejected his qualifying offer of 14.1 million dollars.  Most experts expected this, as it is believed Cruz will test the free agent market.  Cruz could bring in a big contract as the market for power hitting is weak.  Many rumors are abounding in the trade department, but nothing sounds concrete.  The Rangers still need help at DH, First Base, Left Field, and may even be in the market for a top notch Starting Pitcher.  I wouldn’t call it a rebuilding year, but it might be one of fine tuning.
